The horse as a mirror of our emotions
Le Therapist offers equestrian journeys to Mongolia or Patagonia. We wanted to explain the healing power of horses.
Horses have the ability to transform us in five ways:
1. They soothe the nervous system. A horse’s heart rate and breathing have a naturally regulating effect on our own. At its side, our pulse slows and our mind settles. It is a return to balance that no screen or studio can offer.
2. They reflect our emotions honestly. Horses respond not to words but to energy. Their sensitivity helps us recognise our own feelings, whether anxiety, fear or openness, and invites us to lead with calm, grounded presence.
3. They restore trust and confidence. To ride, or simply to connect with a horse, is to enter a dialogue built on mutual respect. That process rebuilds self-confidence and teaches the strength of gentle leadership.
4. They bring us back to the present moment. When you ride, there is neither past nor future, only rhythm, breath and movement. It is a meditation in motion that sharpens awareness and releases mental tension.
5. They reconnect us to nature and to ourselves. Horses carry within them the wisdom of the wild. Through them, we remember our place in nature, grounded, intuitive and at peace.
